Voluntarily Provided Information

Floating Doctors collects personally identifiable information from site visitors, supporters, and other constituencies through first-party voluntary interaction with Floating Doctors. This may include data users choose to enter through registration, making a donation or purchase online or offline, subscribing to our e-newsletter, taking an action, submitting a survey, applying for a job, or any other action that requires direct input by a user. By providing this input, the user is consenting to Floating Doctors’s use of the personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

If you donate, either online or otherwise, we’ll request certain personally identifiable information about you (such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information). This information ensures that we can securely process your donation and communicate with you about it. We may also use your information to improve our promotional efforts, keep you updated about our work, analyze website usage, and improve our website’s content, layout, and services.

Floating Doctors collects personally identifiable information from individuals registering to volunteer or apply for a fellowship. This may include your name, address, telephone number, email address, and any other personally identifiable information requested in online or offline forms, as well as an electronic or paper copy of your resume/CV. Any of this information is strictly private. No information stored or submitted in such forms will be used for any purpose other than to assess your qualifications as a fellow or volunteer for Floating Doctors. If you believe that someone has shared your personal information with us and you don’t want to be included in our database, please let us know so that we can remove you. Call us at 623-910-6049 or email updates@floatingdoctors.com.

We may receive information about you from other sources—including publicly available databases or third parties we purchased data from—and combine this data with information we already have about you. This helps us to update and analyze our records.

The following are examples of the types of personal information we might collect from public sources or purchase from third parties:

•    Address information from sources such as the U.S. Postal Service to verify your address so we can prevent fraud and securely ship a gift receipt to you

Sharing with Third Parties

In the interests of improving your experience and the services we can offer you, we may share your information with third-party business partners, such as a direct mail provider or marketing agency. If you don’t want us to share your personal information with these third-party business partners, such as a direct mail provider or marketing agency, please contact us at 623-910-6049 or updates@floatingdoctors.com.

These companies require access to personal information for their services, but they are kept confidential and are authorized to use this information only as necessary to provide their specific services to Floating Doctors.

In addition to data users voluntarily provide, Floating Doctors may use third-party services and platforms, such as Google Analytics, to place first-party and/or third-party cookies or similar technologies on devices that access Floating Doctors-owned properties that may collect and record non-identifying/aggregated information on user interactions.  Floating Doctors uses this aggregated data to determine and monitor usage characteristics and activities of visitors to evaluate and improve a user’s experience.  The collected data is NOT personally identifiable and therefore cannot be tied back to an individual user.
